This started off as a school project for my upper division writing class & ended up being so much more than that. I’ve poured my heart out on here about my weight loss journey, my depression, my eating habits, & just about everything! Not even my closest friends or parents know about my issues. It’s so nice to have a platform where I can tell people about my past experiences.

2 years ago I weighed at 120 lb. I found out I lost 10 lb. in March 2014.. I think? But, I recently just weighed myself and I am 113 lb., due to eating out of stress & not working out b/c of my back problems. 

Side note: I’m not the type to weigh myself because I think it’s unnecessary, dumb, & the numbers on the scale don’t mean nothin. It’s all about how you feeeeel…The only reason I weighed myself was for the whole30 challenge. I will post my weight and measurements after my challenge is finished :)

What did i do to lose weight?
I became a flexible paleo/primal eater, worked out 3 times a week for 30-45minutes, and tried to keep active through out the day. Now, I just go to yoga 2-3 times a week because I have really bad back pain and can’t do much at the gym.

I’m on that same boat with you! That’s why I’m doing the 30 day paleo challenge. The first step to take is DIET! Losing weight takes 80% eating clean. I know..sucks right? But you’ll feel amazing and have that extra fat off of you!

Second, when it came to working out I did at least 20 minutes of low intense cardio. There was a time though where I would run 2 miles a day, but it might my hyperlordosis worse and created terrible back pain. If you can run, I say do it! But for now, I am only doing yoga 2-3 times a week because of my constant back pain. 

Try to do 30 minutes of a balanced work out. Lifting and cardio combined or watch some youtube videos. I know Blogilates has a ton of great videos! 

When it comes to food, just eat as clean as possible. Treat yourself though! Don’t make this thing into a chore; make it a lifestyle and something you enjoy. I’m a paleo/primal eater..which I get a lot of flack on. But, do what you love! If you love to eat grains and carbs, just keep it in moderation. Eat whole wheat, quinoa, brown rice, and what not. 

All in all, the key is moderation! I hope that helps.  Sorry if there are any grammar errors or things that don’t make sense..It’s hot and I am hungry! Congrats on taking the steps to a healthier lifestyle.
